Biography
Robert Marton - Bass
Personal Testimony:
I grew up as a PK in a solid Christian home where our
Sundays were consumed by church and our social life revolved around church
functions. As a teenager, Christ touched my life and the reality of his
saving work has been continually unfolding ever since. I have enjoyed a
rich heritage of singing 4-part harmony in Sunday school at a young age;
even before any of us boys could hit the low bass notes. Growing up in a
large family, my parents demonstrated the priority and centrality of
gospel music in our lives, even when it meant making great sacrifices.
They made sure we would be taught to read, play and sing gospel music
(even if it was against our will) that when we grew up, we could minister
to the church.
What has the Lord done to change my life:
God is continually working on me to make me what he
wants me to be. The impact of His saving grace on my life has given me a
passion to be an agent of grace to others. I am amazed by the lessons God
teaches me by the people He places in my life and the experiences He puts
me through. God has allowed me to sing with the GGQ in part, to change me.
What does the GGQ mean to me:
God has allowed me to use my talents as a means to
communicate the gospel in a way that I enjoy. Hanging out with these men
has provided me a close network of spiritual accountability, support and
mentoring towards my spiritual growth. Singing with the GGQ is a
continuation of a work He started in me as a young teenager when three
other boys and I formed a Gospel quartet to minister in our local church
for a number of years. The GGQ means God has not given up on me yet.

Church:
Together with my family, we worship at Taft Avenue
Community Church in Orange. We are grateful for the great fellowship,
solid bible teaching, music ministry and integrity of the leadership we
have experienced. We are continually amazed at how God uses His Word and
His people to spiritually refresh, uplift and strengthen us. I am humbled
to think that God may be able to do the same through me.
